It is not a new idea, plus there are a number of errors in the article (such as the typical EVSE being limited to 3.3 Kw.). The bigger problem is that everyone of these inductive systems is, so far, incompatible with any of the others...

Given the higher cost of wireless charging hardware, I would be more inclined to pay if the device charged as fast as the one in the article (20kW). Maybe wireless charging manufacturers like this will figure out how to sell the complete system (car and garage hardware w software) sooner than car manufacturers are willing to introduce cars with chargers this fast. I'd retrofit my Volt or a Leaf in a heartbeat if they can prove the system is reliable and reasonable in cost. And since I'd be using this at home, I wouldn't care about compatibility with other wireless units. If they do install public wireless charging units eventually, might as well make them this fast. I'm sure this set-up can't be cheap though.
