*credit to whomever. I don't recall where in this forum I found this.

The critical step comes in filling out the APPLICATION FOR VEHICLE TRANSACTION. Instead of Passenger plates, Electric Vehicle (EL) plates need to be requested instead. Also make sure the dealership is not automatically collecting $99 for plates. Many of their computer programs are not set up to handle other fees or the operator is just accepting the default amount. This is typically well into the purchasing process, after being worn down by the negotiations for the new car price and the trade in price. So it’s easy to be in the “whatever it takes to get me out of here” phase of the deal. It may be worth asking up front if the dealership knows about the plates and their lower costs. It will give them ample time to research before the signing marathon begins. (Ask for/Look at the finance contract for the correct numbers before getting too far into the process.)

Well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad (on the IL drop down, they do mention and link to a blurb about reduced license plate fees but not how to get one), the other 2 links get you to the right resource to get started on both the EV (purchase only) rebate and EVSE charger/install rebate. Also, would imagine the Tesla 'stores' in IL will have the right IL SOS forms

In California all our existing incentives seem to be continuing into the new year except the IRS Charger 30% thingy.

So... 7500 for real ev from feds
2500 from state

Does Ev Project continue?

Happy New Year? ;)

I got a kick out of one incentive for Washington.. EVs are exempt from emission inspections... HA! Makes me wonder how they'd do it if they weren't......

That brings to mind … here in IL, no real 'emissions' type test anyways, they just check the OBD readings so '96 or older are exempt as they don't typically have one -- all diesel passenger cars have been exempt for a while as well on a new car you wait 4 model years for your first test and then every 2 years --- not an 'incentive' but I guess one more thing you don't need to bother with being an EV but interesting its considered along with a diesel.

For Illinois:

Have any of you who have sent in the rebate get any problems with:

PLEASE NOTE: All EV charging unit installations completed after December 31, 2013 (with the exception of self-installed units) must be performed by an installer that is certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) under the rule on the “Certification for the Installation, Maintenance or Repair of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations” (83 Ill. Adm. Code, Ch I, Subch c, Part 469). For information on the ICC’s rulemaking, please refer to ICC Case Number 12-0212 and the rulemaking workshop process.
