The light interior is going to be filthy the first week with my 2 six year olds. A dark grey would be much better from a practical stand point.

Aww, the light color was so inviting, now you force me to think practically and get all bummed out :(

FWIW, I have two 5-1/2 yr olds. We plan to do the same as with our other cars with dark colored leather ... buy a bench-type fabric seat cover to contain the crumbs and other messes under their car seats.

It was interesting that when we were checking out the 'static' Leaf at the OC Auto Show in Anaheim a few weeks ago, the kids were, shall I say, putting the fabric to the test. Despite having heard previous comments about how the fabric would pick up dirt very easily because of its light color, the fabric seemed to hold up better than expected. Though I agree that a darker color would've been more practical.

New car new rules. How about no eating in the car?

And let them know there is 400 volts under the seat so do not spill anything conductive  ;)

Has Nissan ever disclosed the pack voltage?

Seat covers-someone needs to get going on a pattern to make and sell them quickly ;)

Seat covers are usually ugly and cheap, ones worth having are very expensive. How about plastic covers like the ones on sofas:)

Does anyone have any experience with a good seat cover company that they can share?

I have not had them on any of my cars, but Wet Okole uses Neoprene wetsuit material, which protects the seats pretty well:

Clazzio is a JDM seat cover supplier that offers airbag-compliant custom seat covers in leather, suede, etc.- which look pretty impressive. If you do a quick serch, you can find a number of people who sell them, but you may need to wait a little for them to offer the custom-fit covers for the LEAF.

THANK YOU! I just have not had any experience with them, so this is a great start. Thanks again.

I just sent off an email to Clazzio inquiring about seat covers for the 2011 Nissan LEAF.

I will let you know their reply. They appear to be well constructed, high quality LEATHER seat covers. The typical price for front and rear is about $500 for the set.

Includes seats and headrests.

I would be adding heat pads on seats, and concealing them by seat covers to protect from kids anyway.
