Not an A8, but it is a ChaDeMo connector...interesting. See also at 46 seconds into the video.

When the car was designed, there was (and still is) no other deployed standard available for quick charging. It's quite useful, or even necessary, at the track.

It was a typo - and since it'd get other's shorts bunched up, I fixed it. I ran a search too . . . but since the search tool sucks major sphincter - dat be duh best I can do.

I'm always blown away on mnL - how little a distraction it takes to derail a thought . . . . which in this case was the irony that VW wouldn't do a retrofit for their chosen favorite plug style. If/when the car actually comes out in a year or so, it'll be interesting to see if it actually sports the frankenplug.
