Hi all,

How can I get some reasonable assurance that there will be funds for the $2500 rebate if I sign a lease tomorrow? I've looked at the CVRP site statistics. (http://energycenter.org/index.php/incentive-programs/clean-vehicle-rebate-project/cvrp-program-status" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), but it seems subject to interpretation.

One reading of this is that there are $7.6M of applications pending and reserved already, and only $1.6M of funding remaining. If that's true, I'd be silly to sign a deal based on the assurance that it will be there.

Please help! The deal makes sense to me financially with the rebate, but not without. Not sure if it's just creepy salesmen trying to talk me into signing quickly...they also tried to sell me a discounted "maintenance package" for a leased vehicle...feels fishy :?

After the remaining funds run out, it's really anybody's guess how quickly the fund will be replenished. It has been replenished several times before, though I think prior to the latest replenishment, the program ran dry in April or May, and had to wait until after July 1 for new funding.

You are correct to be concerned how long the wait could be. I would suggest checking out a 24 month lease instead. Even though it doesn't qualify for the rebate, many folks have still gotten good deals with these.

Remaining means not allocated. Pending are applications which have not been processed. If you aren't sure just call CCSE and ask. They'll tell you.

Odds are very high that more funds will be added. It's first come first paid so worst case you'd be at the top of the list.

Check out this article from PlugInCars.com:

I did the 36 month lease last month.
Got approved on 7/23.
But I also did it for the free EVSE thru http://evsolutions.avinc.com/products/cec/cec_program_overview" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Wait till next Tuesday, when they will release more, if you are still on the fence.
