Acoustic generator makes LEAF unsuited for predator hunting

So this morning I begin to pull away from the house and I see a coyote lift his head two yards over. I stop and after a moment he goes back to his 'Wile-e" ways. As soon as the front acoustic generator begins making noise he lifts his head again, this time seeing me as well and bolts. I wonder if Nissan programmed it to work beyond 30mph would it help in scattering deer?
 
One of the reasons I like my 2011 better - there is an off switch for the sound. I don't use it for hunting, mind. I use it to spare my neighbors the back-up signal, should I have to leave the house at an ungodly hour.
