Figured I'd introduce myself to the board with a post I put up recently on Autobloggreen:

http://green.autoblog.com/2010/09/06/david-vespremi-a-lot-is-hanging-on-the-leaf/

Anyway, looking forward to taking delivery of our silver SL in the hopefully not-too-distant future.

Welcome to the forum !

That was an interesting article on ABG - though I don't agree with some of it ...

Welcome David. So after you're done spamming through the forum, do ya think you'll ever be back to add value?

Welcome to the forum David.
One thing you missed is there IS an incentive page on our account pages that tells the incentives/rebates and HOV access for each state. And I was curious as to why you didn't mention the EV Project that is going to give us a free charging station/dock and have thousands of charging stations starting in the five rollout states.
I disagree about when the "honeymoon" is over. I have news for you, the honeymoon isn't going to end for us and after people see our LEAFs, they will want a LEAF, not another gasoline or hybrid car, no matter where it is from. Also, we can lease if we choose. That is really old information David that you can't lease. One more thing, who says we want a green color? I understand that some people do, but I don't need to brag about the car, the LEAF will talk for itself, no matter what color. And here in AZ, Glacier Pearl for me makes much better sense. :)
I'll give ya a 'C' for your article. You left out too many important things. ;)

Sure. How can I help add value?

One thing you seemed to have assumed is that most people are coming from owning a luxury car. I think that is incorrect. Half the people have a Prius - and Nissan squarely puts Leaf in the same category. They match Leaf with Prius - inch for inch in size and in price. I think Prius drivers will feel right at home in Leaf - though people like me coming from another Nissan (Maxima in my case) will feel a little cramped ;-)

ps : Don't mind what indyflick wrote above. We see a lot of people who post a link and never return.

But the state incentive directory doesn't exist on Nissan's site - and arguably it should. Not every prospective owner will know about this board.

As for the lease - my comment was distinguishing the EV1 which could not be purchased from the Leaf, that can.

For indyflick's benefit I'll point out that as a future Leaf owner, the arrival of my Silver SL provides plenty of incentive to return.

Yes - accessible from "price"

http://www.nissanusa.com/leaf-electric-car/index#/leaf-electric-car/tags/show/price

It might wow newcomers - but in general, the usability & discoverability of the site is low.

David you have to login to Nissanusa.com to see incentive I think

Good catch - you have to dig for it, but it is there. Strange that incentives like HOV lane access and front row parking are lumped in under vehicle pricing. In any event, on that point, I stand corrected.

No ... login not necessary; makes sense, so non-reservationists can also view the incentives to go electric. But (as evnow points out) ... hard to find under "Price".
