30% Tax credit - applicable for purchase to install later?

Just wondering if I purchase a station now before Dec 31, but not able to get it installed until next year can I claim the credit for the purchase price of the station?

No. The charging station must be "in service" by the end of the the year. That doesn't mean you have to be using it, but it does mean it must be installed and have had any required inspection.

dont worry, the house of representatives is sure to extend the credit because they are the part of Congress closer to the people and what we need.
