You were not listening, between your rants, I'm afraid. It's not just the motor. The biggest improvement in wall-to-wheel efficiency, which is what the EPA measures, can be likely attributed to the mix of 80% and 100% charging, the new 6 kW onboard charger, then the motor, the (very slightly) reduced weight, altered regen behavior, and possibly some other factors. Happy?
