    [Best Practices] Accelerating...

Ok, we'll skip this. Which is better, Star Wars or Star Trek? I mean... Which is better, Peanut Butter or Chocolate? I mean... Which is better, Vi or EMACS? I mean... Which is better, Mac or PC? I mean... (Correct answers, Star Wars, Peanut Butter, Vi, and Mac - BTW. :p)

    [Best Practices] Decelerating...

Do you have a link to that guide? I'd love to read it. In "B" mode, isn't coasting also regen?

    [Best Practices] Accelerating...

Ok, so as I see it (and as I have been experimenting) we have too main classes of accelerating: Full power, short burst Meaning, step on the pedal and accelerate as fast as possible to the desired speed. Slow and gradual power, long burst Slowly accelerate to the desired speed.

    [Best Practices] Decelerating...

Very good point, I am a 2013 Leaf, but I don't want to restrict it to new models.

    [Best Practices] Accelerating...

There is a lot of FUD out there around EVs... I tried asking these questions on reddit, but really just got different answers. If there was a place to do this right, this is is. In this thread, I'd like to come up with the most battery efficient ways to accelerate. Through my own...

    [Best Practices] Decelerating...

    - Drive in "B" mode - Try to "plan" your breaking so that you maintain as much forward momentum as possible.

    Charge Timer/ 80% charge question

Yea, I see what you are saying. So, really, leave it in 100% mode all the time, and let the timers do the limiting. Ok, reasonable solution. Thx. :P

    Charge Timer/ 80% charge question

    I'm going to add to this thread, rather than create a new one... since I believe they are semi-related. I've got my Leaf set up on timers. Timer 1: 80% Charge : Sun-Thurs : 5a - 8a Timer 2: 100% Charge : Fri-Sat : 4a - 9a 80% Charge Limit Setting : On I do the above for a few reasons: -...

2013 SV has the clicking sound

Another datapoint. I had the clicking noise, started at ~2200miles. Appears to be coming from front axle only. Took it in service, and they just called with a "Greased the Splines" response. Seems like a common thing, as well as an easy fix.

Got iced by a Volt at the Nissan Dealership

Clearly you are not the person to argue with... Leaf and Volt... You bought a full glass of EV-KoolAid like the rest of us here. *Internet High-Five* This is how I think of it... the car manufacturers of the world don't need to convince people like you or me - or any of the Early Adopters or...

Got iced by a Volt at the Nissan Dealership

Completely agree. And people wonder why certain car companies to better than others... well, some try, some don't.

Got iced by a Volt at the Nissan Dealership

Chevy Dealer's don't have 'public' EVSEs? That is not a great way to instill confidence in your new car purchasers.

Floating the EVSE plug with a tether

You must be really tall! :) Also, I saw McMinneville, OR. High-five. I got my Certified Flight Instructor for Helicopters there at the airport. Right across from the Flight Museum. I'm sure you heard me flying over. :)

Charge a LEAF with another LEAF?

Interesting option... would certainly help reduce the "EV Anxiety" about batteries. This is totally one of those things where Nissan should build a community around. MINI did a great job of this, and got almost ever MINI drive to thumbs up other drivers when they passed. I'd say 99.9%...

    Steering Wheel Controls...

I love the idea of having controls on the steering wheel. It allows you to keep your hands on the wheel and get done what needs getting done. BUT, I've got to say, the Nissan implementation of this is, by far, the most convoluted and difficult of all cars I have driven. Let me explain... this...

Floating the EVSE plug with a tether

Oh, and as an added benefit... the loop in the cord acts as a 'stop' when I pull in the garage. I set it up so that as soon as the cord touches the hood, I'm far enough in.

Floating the EVSE plug with a tether

So, I finally gave up with locating a good retractable solution. I just could not find something that was strong enough to hold the weight of the cord and also be weak enough not to slowly cause it to creep up out of reach. Final solution... about $9. 2 covered hooks, 4 nylon zip-ties, a...
