Driver Display Clock Always FAST, Center Display accurate?

Anybody else finding their "driver display" clock totally inconsistent and always "fast" compared to the accurate time on the central display? There is a "folk wisdom" that "he who has one clock knows what time it is" but "with two clocks....." It just seems "poor engineering" that the...

Open letter to Nissan Leaf Customer Support....GPS Software

As one of the truly enthusiastic early adopters of the Nissan Leaf (VIN # 320, ordered on Day 1 of accepting orders for the US delivery process of this model), I was shocked as I took delivery of my car at North Bay Nissan (Petaluma, CA.) when I tried to set the GPS for my home in West...

Sacramento Area Gathering #3.5 , August 20 Cal Expo REI

Fellow Leaf drivers in the greater Sacramento area, I just this morning got confirmation that we are approved by the Cal Expo REI store management for our second "Driver's Gathering" in the parking lot in front of the REI store (Cal Expo location) for 20 August. I propose we arrive around 9:45...

Do you hear a constant whine?

My wife has been complaining from Day 1 about the constant high pitched whine she hears when riding or driving our Leaf. With a semi-significant hearing loss, this is not something I have been able to perceive, but today, MOTOR TREND magazine arrived with a big article comparing the Leaf, Volt...

    Check your Monroney Sticker please

Fellow Leaf drivers, today (May 11), I happened to take out the original "federal price sticker" from our Leaf and examine it a bit more carefully. I was studying that sticker vs. the similar sticker off our 2011 Volt for "where the car was assembled and where parts came from." Anyway, our...

    Sacramento Area Gathering #3 ????

Fellow Sacramento area Leaf (and Volt) drivers, There are several rewards for gathering, though I missed assembly #1 in Elk Grove, I did participate in the Roseville, Earth Day meeting, and found that a big payoff in getting a group of EVs and their drivers together is "getting the word out" to...

Beware of mistakes in special "EV rate" billing

Fellow EVers, I finally got around to checking closely my electric utility billing for the months SINCE we got our Leaf. In October of 2010 I had our rate structure changed from the previous "standard TOU solar" rate, termed E6 by Pacific Gas and Electric our grid provider, to their E9 rate...

    Failure TO Charge

Anybody else come out in the morning and find that their Leaf did not "accept" a charge? I have now had a couple of times where our car seems not to have taken a "full handshake" with the charge handle, and thus the time delay charging did NOT take place !!! Maybe this is only my poor manual...

Associated Press Video on EVs: Leaf and Volt

Here is a link for an Associated Press 2minutes and 20 seconds on the Leaf and the Volt at home! Enjoy, and tell the Consumer Reports staff they are TOTALLY WRONG about the immediate cost payoff with the Leaf !!!! Thanks for the help with the electric car story which went out this morning...

    The LEAF is too nondescript?

Fellow LEAFers....what is your response to these opinions? http://www.greencarreports.com/blog/1056787_is-the-2011-nissan-leaf-the-truly-invisible-electric-car Your chance to "open up."

    PG&E and E9

I went to E9 about 3 months before my car(s) actually arrived. I got that order in so apparently early, because I was one of the VERY early LEAF and Volt order people, and I had every reason to believe in September 2010 that both cars would arrive by November-December. As it turned out the...

    Vacaville L3 Chargepoint

YES, based on my experience and from others I have read reports from....The DAVIS STREET exit charging station in Vacaville has an OPEN, Public, and FREE L3 charge point. There is only 1 charge handle available and it is on the west end of the south array of charging connections (they have...

LEAF and Volt for the two car family

Felix Kramer in the SF Bay Area was the first household with both the LEAF and the Volt, and his family LEAF came from North Bay Nissan in Petaluma. Last week, on Thursday Feb. 17, Ron Coury of North Bay Nissan delivered our Glacier Pearl SL with the QC and floor mat options to us, and it would...

Nissan's Lack of Communication on Delivery Delay

Perhaps I am the only one of the thousands of LEAF fans who is 1. Prepared to love my LEAF EV but, 2. Who is TOTALLY disgusted with the Nissan Corporate level of feedback to those of us waiting for our ordered cars? I really don't want slick mailers with color chip samples, particularly when...

Sacramento and North Valley Leaf Discount Dealership

After more than 6 weeks of searching for a Nissan dealership that would negotiate a less than MSRP sale/delivery of the new Leaf, I found a responsive dealer in the Chico Nissan Hyundai dealership. Here is the confirming post I just got from them ...Since nobody yet has the actual INVOICE cost...

    Sacramento Area Fontana Customers Anybody?

I have been trying to get ANY of the Nissan dealers in the Sacramento region to accept a Leaf sale agreement at a "split between their invoice and MSRP." Failing to find any that are willing to accept this offer, I am now considering putting my AUGUST order with Fontana Nissan at their $1000...
