    New member from Melbourne Australia

Hi MXP, Yes, that's a good deal. Unfortunately I paid the initial price (~$51000) but it's good for new customers. I hope it stimulates sales. Regarding the head rests, you might need to pre-order these as due to the limited numberof LEAFs on the road, most dealers won't carry many spares in...

    New member from Melbourne Australia

Welcome back to beautiful Melbourne. I don't know that I've been hiding! I've driven my LEAF to work every day for the last 18 months. I've only seen a few LEAFs in the wild around town. Funny thing is that almost all of them have been red like mine, so perhaps it's the same one or I only...

What do the dealers actually do when "servicing" a LEAF

Hi Marty, No, I love the car. The BMW was what I was driving before the LEAF (my son drives it now). I'll check out your Oz site. Leigh

What do the dealers actually do when "servicing" a LEAF

Hi Marty, I've owned my LEAF in Melbourne for just over 12 months and have had both services done at the Nissan dealer. 10,000k cost $66.50 20,000k cost $148.18 but they didn't have a cabin air filter in stock so that wasn't replaced. Not too bad. My wife's 2008 Prius (100,000k) just cost me...

Hi, Great to have another happy LEAF owner in Melbourne. Did you have much trouble organising charging at work? Leigh

Flashlight on the pistol grip of the charger EVSE

Unfortunately for us "downunder," Nissan Australia didn't tick the "Headlight Courtesy Delay" build option so that isn't an option for me. Leigh

    Hunter Valley EV Festival

Probably not. It's a bit far from Melbourne. Leigh

    Australian release of Nissan LEAF

I haven't noticed many significant reactions in public in the 10 months I've owned the car. A guy at 7-eleven noticed me and asked how long it took to charge (answer: 10 seconds to plug in and full by the morning!) A couple of people in the car park at work noticed it was very quiet and asked me...

    Australian release of Nissan LEAF

That's interesting. I've seen a white LEAF with signwriting for something in Moreland (library?) driving around Eltham a couple of times. Maybe a coincidence? Leigh

    Australian release of Nissan LEAF

Melbourne's first fast charger... I'm intrigued. I'll have to wait for its public debut. The only public charging station I've used is at the airport, and I only go there about 5 times a year. It hasn't really been an issue for me as my daily commute is 70-80km which is fine even with 80%...

    New member from Melbourne Australia

Hi Laith, I'm probably the member you found in Melbourne. I've had my LEAF for nearly 10 months now (it's getting its 20000 km service tomorrow). I love the car. I've seen at least 4 other LEAFs in Melbourne, not counting those in the Vic Gov EV Trial so there are definitely more than 2! You're...

Carwings not working / data missing

I've noticed the same thing in Australia. Only 2 days data in the last 10. I haven't called Nissan yet but I'll see how it goes. Leigh

LEAF Manager, alternative carwings app for android

For me (in Australia) the app won't login to the Australia server, but works OK to Japan. I'll have a play with the app and see how I like it. Leigh

    Australian release of Nissan LEAF

Hi Chris, I'm in the east so the furthest West I get is probably Tullamarine. Still I keep looking out for others. I've seen a couple from the EV Trial and at least two others in the past 12 months or so. We are a small but enthusiastic group I hope. leigh

    Australian release of Nissan LEAF

Congratulations from another LEAF (Cayenne Red ZEK-...) owner in Melbourne. I hope you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine. I bought mine with a 48 month Novated Lease before Nissan offered any discounts over their original MSRP (about $52000). With the income tax advantages and the...

Flashlight on the pistol grip of the charger EVSE

In Australia I couldn't easily find the Sylvania light available. I did find a suitable light on eBay like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-15-LED-Light-Lamp-PIR-Auto-Sensor-Motion-Detector-/271040768124?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1b49e87c for about $7 including shipping. The two magnets...

    Issues with Android Bluetooth Audio

You might try the "A2DP Volume" app which can start a particular app when the bluetooth connects. I haven't tried Pandora though so it might not work, but at least the app is free :) Leigh

Greetings from new LEAF Owner in Australia!

Hi George, Yes, I also have a Gen 2 Prius (my wife drives it now) which I used to think was quiet! Now it seems noisy compared to the Leaf. Leigh

Greetings from new LEAF Owner in Australia!

Hi Bert, The included EVSE requires a 15A power point, rather than the standard 10A. These are not really uncommon as most caravans have 15A plugs so some people have a 15A socket in the garage. Others over here have done some measurements of the included EVSE and have measured the current at...

Greetings from new LEAF Owner in Australia!

Thanks to all for the welcome. I have already learnt a lot from this forum and expect to continue doing so for some time. Beleaf - Yes I did take the Origin EVSE installation offer. It's more expensive but at least I could get it installed fairly quickly and 2 years interest free. Gary - The...
