Yes Alan, the battery review is just a report on the driver's habits, and nothing to do with the health of the battery pack. With my first Leaf I got 5 stars, and lost a capacity bar at 6,771miles.
I got my 2015 in November of 2014, so far so good. I will report when I lose a bar. I feel like a test case of the lizard battery. It is 100 every day here in Tucson.
+1. In my 2015 I love driving in Eco B mode. When I drive my wife's ICE I feel I am lurching all over the place. And the regen in B minimizes my need to use my brakes. And going into town I drive on the always empty frontage roads rather than the interstate, so impeding other drivers is not...
So sorry dgp, that first one is always tough. I remember on my first Leaf, a 2011, I would cringe when I started the car and look at the capacity bars. Of course I did not think I would lose the first one at 6,771 miles.
All of sudden my battery temps changed. When used first thing in the morning I have 6 bars, with an ambient temp of 75. It had always been at 5 bars. I wonder what happened.
Okay, you can all have a good laugh at my expense. (Be kind though, I am an old guy.) It is in Eco, that was already set when I picked up the car. I would have set to Eco anyway, so I just kind of blocked it out. I feel silly.
