faults with CHdeMO plug at Electrify America station

On a related note, the Washington Post recently published an article about Electrify America's reliability: https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2023/12/13/electrify-america-ev-charger-broken/ Here is a re-posted version that shouldn't require a WaPo subscription: MSN

    2013 Clarion QY7210 upgrade to 2016 QY8200 (Non-Bose Navigation stereo)

Oooooh, my bad. No, nothing fancy like that. Everything was plug-and-play as mentioned above. I was fortunate that the 2016 Leaf was functional at the junkyard, so I could verify that the stereo worked and that the map SD card was present. The navigation map SD card can only be used in the...

    2013 Clarion QY7210 upgrade to 2016 QY8200 (Non-Bose Navigation stereo)

The two radio antenna pins are identical between the two units. The only difference between them is the grey plastic connector housing. Annoyingly, I misplaced the connector from the 2016 stereo, so that's the one thing (besides telematics) that I don't have hooked up. I rarely listen to the...

Thanks! Yes, the Bluetooth connects to our phones perfectly well.

    2013 Clarion QY7210 upgrade to 2016 QY8200 (Non-Bose Navigation stereo)

Hoping for a better user experience (including spoken text messages) and the possibility of newer firmware supporting Android Auto (what I later learned is a very expensive proposition from https://xanavi.net/), I bought the non-Bose navigation stereo system (Clarion QY-8200) out of a wrecked...

Strange alert noises from dash (2013 SV)

Disregard. If you have a Viofo A119 v3 dash camera suddenly won't keep its settings saved, you may have to replace the RTC (tiny soldered rechargeable lithium battery). Otherwise, you might think your Leaf is starting to make weird noises! Mods can delete this post if necessary.

    Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar

Saw that! Thanks for the shout-out in the comments, and glad to help!

    Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar

I installed this on a 2013 Leaf. Not 100% sure about compatibility between 2013 and the later models, but I wouldn't be surprised. You could compare suspension part numbers between years: https://parts.nissanusa.com/

    Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar

Yep, the stock bar stays (welded?) in place. I've been happy with the handling improvement :)

The 2021 guide to upgrading a 2015 Leaf S radio

I care a lot. So much so that I bought a stereo out of a junked 2016 Leaf (US) so I could retrofit it into my 2013 Leaf (US). What slowed me down there was that the stereo, antenna, and satellite connectors are different between 2013 and 2016, and I'm trying to avoid cutting the factory harness...

    Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar

I measured my stock rear sway bar as 19mm (same as the Ultra Racing bar), but knocking on it, it sounds like it may be hollow. I believe the Ultra Racing bar is solid (or at least makes a lower-pitch sound when I knock on it).

    Ultra Racing Rear Sway Bar

Going from a MINI Cooper S to a Nissan Leaf, there were (not surprisingly) some aspects of the driving experience that I felt I had lost in the transition. I love the torque of the Leaf when I actually need/use it, but it's been a while since I've dealt with so much understeer and body roll. I...

FOR SALE: Turn signal combination switch for auto headlights and fog lights

Want to retrofit automatic headlights or add fog lights to a car that didn't already have them? This 2014 Nissan Murano SV combination switch is just want you need! I had it installed in my 2013 Leaf SV for months. Though it's slightly different visually, it's functionally identical to my...

    Retrofitting one-touch turn signals

It took me a while to finally try out, but I installed a combination switch from a "2015 Nissan Murano Premium" (?) that has one-touch turn signals according to the owner's manual. No luck. The turn signals only flash once when you bump the stalk, just like my original 2013 Leaf switch and the...

[FS] Parting out a 2012 Nissan Leaf, pearl white, 60k miles

I have the rubber floor mats from the OP, but they didn't end up fitting my 2013 Leaf. PM me if interested.

SOLD: 2011-2017 Nissan Leaf cellphone holder

New price: free + cost of shipping. Should be pretty cheap with USPS First Class. And you can always remove the phone sleeve and use just the bracket to make a more secure custom mount for a magnetic holder or something.

In CO: Parting out 2019 Leaf SV Green

Chevy made an electric S10 in 1997-1998 and Ford an electric Ranger in 1997-2002. I've only ever seen the latter available these days. But I agree; even a modern ICE compact pickup option would be great to have. Something like the Chevy Montana ute made in Brazil.

Intentionally buying marginal battery on 3-year old leaf?

I'm glad you said that. I dug through some papers I had gotten from the dealer when I bought the car and realized that the same two modules were a problem in July of last year (before I bought the car). Needless to say, I've learned a lot since then. So why Nissan's tech line told the dealer to...
