CARWINGS changing to Nissan Connect EV - ONLINE NOW

I think he is talking about the correct app. The Nissan Leaf app was updated and changed names in the process. My connection broke too, but was working fine before the update. When I logon to the owners portal, I don't have the tab for NissanConnectEV anymore, even though I reentered the...

My car just died and thinking about purchasing a used S or SV Leaf - Help me decide

The Leaf Spy is really the only reliable info besides capacity bars. The higher percentage, the better. If it is below 90, it will lose a bar soon. It is reading from the car's diagnostics, so it doesn't make errors. The 2013s have been holding up better around here. I don't know one that has...

My car just died and thinking about purchasing a used S or SV Leaf - Help me decide

I agree on the heat pump here. I had a 2011 without it and really notice the improved range with it in the 2015. We really like the SV. Some dealers remove the SD cards before purchase so they aren't stolen. It could be they actually have them. If you need any help locally, try join the EV Club...

Getting a AFV Plate in GA

Exactly. Slowing down will do more to cut wind resistance than (safely) following traffic. And the people behind you in the HOV lane will make going less than 5 mph over the speed limit nerve wracking.

Getting a AFV Plate in GA

I don't find that I save miles in the HOV lane. If you go as fast as everyone else there, the speed will kill your range. Traffic actually helps your range unless you are using the heater. All that said, you just need to fill out the application form and take it to the DMV. If you have already...

    GA Tax Credit clarification

There is an article in the AJC this morning that TurboTax is putting a hold on state returns because they detected higher than normal levels of fraudulent ones this year. That could add a few more days. Did you file hard copy or electronic for state last year?

rear shocks already bad on 2015 SL

I also hear an occasional groan from the rear suspension first thing in the morning coming out of the drive. Our 2015 SV has 6000 miles. I'll watch for spots underneath but haven't noticed any.

    GA Tax Credit clarification

For the 2011 tax year, electronic filing was not an option when claiming the credit. I didn't get it until August. Paper returns are faster now than before.

    Our solar production

Our first full month of production: 104 kWh :) Our system is only 2.24 kW and we have some shading with the low angle of the winter sun. A friend with the same 8 panels often doubles our output. One of our pines is on the endangered list. Anyway, we are finally in the game!

    2015 Heating

I asked a former Volt owner about this. In cold weather, the engine defaults to starting until the pack gets warm. You can set the temp at which this happens down to 25, I think. This would allow someone down here to avoid having the engine come on, but not in WI, of course. I agree that the...

Losing 12th bar, but keeps reappearing?!

I lost a bar on our 2011, it came back 4 miles later and had it the rest of the day. It was gone the next morning and didn't come back even after the software update gave me back 6% capacity.

Oh, great. Way to represent, dude!

Wow, about 5 miles from my house and I hadn't noted the Leaf connection. Leafs are all over here, so their owners now represent all aspects of Georgia society.

Leasing in Atlanta - 2 questions

I don't think this is correct. Your EV credit would be used to pay your tax liability ($1000). You would get a refund for $2200, your prepayment plus the amount of credit you used. Then you would have $4000 of credit left for following years. Another example: if you had $5000 in tax liability...

Should EVs *ever* pay the federal "road" tax?

Everyone who drives on the road needs to pay for them. We should all be willing to pay. The ALT fuel tag in GA costs $35 extra for road tax, it seems like a bargain. The increase in overall fuel economy is good news, but it is reducing highway fund revenues. They need to be restructured, but...

    About GA tax credit

We are just saying thee is change in the wind and that it would be risky to expect everything to be the same next year. There has been no change, so there is no documentation. The GA legislature can be very difficult to predict.

Discuss data from the LEAF Battery app, and Comparisons

I'm not surprised by the GOM, but I figured the dash SOC% and the value read by the app would be identical, except for rounding. Edited weird autocorrect.

    About GA tax credit

It is $5000 per vehicle, or 20% of vehicle cost, whichever is less. So you could get two credits the same year, but you need $10000 of tax liability to use it up. Currently, you can roll over the unused credits into future years, but who knows what they might do with it in the legislature next year.

Discuss data from the LEAF Battery app, and Comparisons

Forgive me if this has been covered, but I had a couple of surprises with my 2015 and the SOC. I had not been tracking the similarity of the dash SOC with the value from the app, but I was surprised at the discrepancy I saw yesterday when the SOC was getting low. The dash says 12% but the app...
