LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

we have semi official information about battery size, but not timing http://cdn.dailykanban.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Leaf_material/60kWh%20battery_02.jpg http://dailykanban.com/2015/10/2nd-gen-leaf-expected-2018-60kwh-nmc-battery-300-mile-range-autonomous-cfrp/ there are other sources as...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

Nissan's battery development initial 24 kWh (heat sensitive) improved electrolytes 24kWh (lizard, but multiple little changes) prior (improved electrolyte) and new NMC cathode 30kWh (2018) prior (improved electrolyte, NMC cathode)and new anode 40ish kWh future? prior (improved electrolyte...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

There was some efficiency hit in the cooling cycle between heat pump and AC only. So for the regions that have a strong preference for AC cooling, it's better to have an AC only option for all trim levels.

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

lets fix it The results are in, no one gives a hoot about a 200+ mile $20,000 hatchEV selling for $35,000 but 400,000 pay deposit on a 200+mile for a $42k premium sedan EV selling for $35,000 Nissan gotta go for the whitespace, can't compete with Tesla on desirability, but can compete with GM...

Predicting Range & Value of LEAF Gen 2

its looks like 40 kWh (38.4 useable) for LEAF 2 and 60kWh for future Rogue sport EV. Oh well

Predicting Range & Value of LEAF Gen 2

I'm predicting 2 physical packs with a different profile, 1st, current pack profile 2nd, larger pack profile although the area (footprint) of the packs are the same, the heights are different, the metal floorpan in the car is different (and incompatible) between the 2 packs. This is the key...

    Hydrogen and FCEVs discussion thread

I feel 2 1/2 major aspects have changed for Toyota's Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle vision. China requiring plug in vehicle for 2018. VW settlement in California going to plug in vehicles for initial 30 months California Hydrogen stations are more expansive and cost a lot more to keep open than...

    Hydrogen and FCEVs discussion thread

Hydrogen doesn't have the luxury of time to succeed in California. Its been closing since 2010 with the Volt and the LEAF Now its closed what is Toyota's plan B?

'LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)' very little but plenty of rumor

    Hydrogen and FCEVs discussion thread

Hydrogen missed out on OPM, that is the end of hydrogen. Honda has a fallback plan on real PHEV, joke BEV and Tesla ZEVs Hyundai is OK Toyota, its hitting the fan

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I'll have to look it up, but when the PHEV was suitably fresh, but with all wrinkles ironed out it was ready to bring to the states. CARB changed the rules concerning how their computers could access battery status. Seems like a small deal, and should only be a 6 month delay for a healthy car...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

realistically, looking at Euro sales, CARB is almost irrelevant. 2 of the 3 best selling cars have nothing at all to do with CARB. One was actually stopped by CARB from coming to America. (Outlander PHEV) CARB went just that little bit too far, if they hadn't of made that little hassle, PHEV...

    Hydrogen and FCEVs discussion thread

this is how the cookie crumbles 'FCHEA urges ARB to postpone approval of the submitted plan' https://www.arb.ca.gov/lists/com-attach/45-vwzevinvestplan-ws-UzUCZwNqUmQKbVMM.pdf If the oil companies don't pay up for Hydrogen then its all over, 700 bar, semi-cryogenic hydrogen stations eat money...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

a used 60kwh is very problematic for any 40kWh vehicle, but that is a 2020 issue. its chicken and egg, but for Nissan to get 60kWh packs cheaply, they simply will need to initially get 60kWh packs expensively. An overlap of both being available, but much better value being for the cheaper...
