Awesome! I would totally try modifying this hitch if I still had a LEAF. As it is I ended up with a BMW i3 this time... maybe I'll peek under the rear and see if this hitch could be adapted to the i3. :-)

I have a Bill Davis QR hitch for a 2012 LEAF I just removed from a lease return. In SF East Bay, if someone wants to come pick it up it is yours for $100 or make me an offer. This is a 2" receiver version. (Totally unsure if it could be modified for later year models, but I'm not sure why not.)

The rack fits well into Bill's hitch and does not otherwise touch the vehicle itself -- so certainly no marring (even when folding the rack up against the car) The installation of the hitch itself of course does require some "modification" of the vehicle underbody, which is explained in detail...

Nice. What if I installed the NEMA 14-50 outlet for the EVSE myself, but paid no other out-of-pocket expenses for the EVSE install? Can I claim the materials cost for the outlet install? Also, does anyone know if evseupgrade counts for this credit?j
