    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Update regarding the nav instructions on the dash. Yesterday i got in the car to go for a short drive and i noticed the compass rose was working again with the current streetname below it. Just for fun i turned on the built-in navigation to see if the instructions worked as well.... and they...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    The compass was working with the street name under it when android auto navigation was not active. have not seen the other directions present though. Not sure if it still works, i'll have to check on my drive home today.

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    tried the new app as well regarding the App/battery readout. But i have to add my Leaf by VIN number, which it says is wrong when i try to add it. Once i get my unit reprogrammed for the Bose setup i'll inquire about this as well.

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Another update on my side: as per my earlier post the model number for mine and Danep82's radio are the same. I'm having the same minor issues as him: - empty source list in the dash(maybe the 2020+ leafs have a different dash/software). + probably a never fix - loud audio(bass boost is...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Volume is a bit on the loud side as well for mine i must admit. I have set the volume for the parking sensors to low in the dash menu. not sure is it made any big difference though. It's not ear shattering but it is much louder then on the old unit. i might tinker in the service menu later...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Had some delay with work etc. Took an hour of work to solder the filter in between and give it a go. Good news, everything works including camera's.! I dont have the red x on my camera's. Only thing not working is the "power meter"? On the radio. i.e. how much power is the car using. But i'm...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    i'll take some pictures when i'm home. basicly on the front of both connectors there is a cover you can remove. then the second step is to undo the locking tab. for the small connector you can pry it upwards to unlock it. for the big one its a up/backwards sliding action. After thats done...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Progress, repinned the original connectors according to Danep82's diagram. Only thing missing is the extra ground pin on the small connector. fired up the car and radio anyway to check. Radio powers on to the locked red notice and i'm unable to get into the diagnostics menu. CAN network seems...

    HOW-TO: 2018 Leaf ZE1 OEM headunit replacement (7" -> 8")

    Mine is a Tekna, so fingers crossed. i might have some trips to the dealer for coding the VIN and other stuff on the new unit. Hope you can get your unit revived and it's only a blown fuse. Had a look at the inside of my new unit trough the vent holes and the extra microcontroller PCB on...

    Found mine at partan.eu for 320 euro ex shipping Looked for some reviews first because it looked a bit shady. But turns out to be a normal company.
