    End of Lease Strategies?

The reason you (like myself) have such a low lease payment is because NMAC over estimated the end-of-lease residuals of these cars. They were off by about $5,000-$6,500. (Your paperwork says you can buy the car for say $21,000, but you could go by the same car right now for $15,000 from a...

    End of Lease Strategies?

I just got off the phone with NMAC - they offered me the 12 month extension with two free months. It was explained that once you sign the paperwork, they send you two month-payment vouchers. You can use them anytime over the next year - it doesn't have to be at the beginning or end or the term.

    EVSE charging cable

I have almost the exact same setup! Been working great for the last 1.5 years.

    Electric parking brake switch

My father-in-law's Subaru Legacy station wagon just had to have it's entire electronic parking brake system replaced. In a case like this, I'll take the basic no-frills reliability of a manual pedal or handle over something being electronic for the sake of being advanced.

Ran out of energy on the way home.

The amount of energy this dog has (when he's not sleeping) is unreal. Probably won't pull the Leaf, but he used his harness pull my wife on rollerblades once!

Ran out of energy on the way home.

As you can see, the batteries are completely empty: That's our six-year old, 9 pound rescue pup who loves going for rides in the Leaf!

Surprise! My work installing EVSEs out of the blue.

That parking garage is EV Nirvana. I love it. The idea to share L2 across four spots makes so much sense!

Post pictures of your home charging setup

Brock - looks like you sometimes charge outside as well. You may want to consider getting a 'dummy inlet' like I did so you can keep your garage door shut but still have access to the 'nozzle'.

J1772 "dummy" hooded inlet EVSE holder install (with photos)

A little while back I ordered an EVSE dummy holder from here : http://erroneus.myevblog.com/buy-plastic-parts-here/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If you have your own 3D printer, you can print your own here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:154452"...

    Battery & motor for heat?

I suspect for a few reasons: 1. Cost and complexity of a heat-routing system from the battery would add weight and expense to the vehicle. 2. Under cold circumstances, you would want heat on the battery anyway to improve range. (hence why newer leafs have battery heaters.) Best to use the...

    2014 Leaf S Leased!

Congratulations on the new Leaf! For what it's worth, don't ever believe what a dealer tells you about product information. They don't know any more than we do. Think about this, if he told out a 200 mile battery would be coming in 2015, would you have leased your 2014? ;)

    20?! That's great news!

20 J1772 plugs at Disneyland California!

True, one size doesn't fit all. I wasn't talking about corner case of the RAV4 coming 90 miles, I was thinking about those in the L.A. Metro area who likely drove less than 50 miles to get there, and are likely to spend 8+ hours at the park. Those coming from outside L.A., probably have an ICE...

20 J1772 plugs at Disneyland California!

A place like Disney doesn't really even need L2 charging equipment. Most people will likely be there all day, where L1 (120 outlet) access would likely suffice.

20 J1772 plugs at Disneyland California!

You moved the gate? I am guessing since some are free and some are pay, they aren't quite done with the setup, testing, and permitting of these units. Not sure if you sent the right message by taking it upon yourself to do whatever you wanted once you got there and just plug in.
