The third annual BC2BC-2014 "All Electric Vehicle Rally", 1500 miles from Mexico to Canada, is planned for August 9, 2014 - August 17, 2014. The start will be in the Los Angeles, California area, however we will drive south to the Mexico border (but not cross it with a car), then on to Vancouver, BC. Bring your passport for Canada and your A game! Again, we will not be entering Mexico with cars, but we will enter Canada.

We are also planning the World's Largest Electric Vehicle Gathering for Sunday morning, August 9, 2014 at our Los Angeles launch site.

If the finances / sponsors work out, we would like to also host rally teams with sponsor supplied car(s). Those teams would consist of folks from EV manufacturers, EV related industry, and government.

As always, your input on proposed rule changes for 2014, cool ideas, etc, are appreciated. This event is primarily to bring awareness to the general public about EVs, and we are all ambassadors in that endeavor. If you have contacts in media along our route, that is probably the single biggest help we could receive.

Our Stages will be:

Rally End - August 17, 2014 -------------------- Vancouver, British Columbia area end

Total MINIMUM miles - 1592

Tony,
You do great work... as usual.
I wish you great success with another splendid rally.

An idea:
For LEAF drivers, I might be able to provide a dozen
tested "LEAF Spy Pro" Android app systems: the
Android "smartphone" device, the ELM327 device,
the configured smartphone, the LEAF Spy Pro app,
and both in-car and AC power/charging cords.

Perhaps a deposit and a rental fee, or a purchase?
Perhaps available a month or more before the rally
so that the user can get familiar with the device.

Cheers, Gary

Wow, what a fantastic offer. Yes, I'm sure we can make this happen.

One consideration. I had a coworker who wasn't a us citizen, but here on a work visa. The company sent him to visit one of our sites in Canada. When he tried to return, they wouldn't let him back across the border. He had to sit up in Canada for a couple weeks until the state dept gave him a new visa that allowed him to come and go.

As attractive as including Vancouver is, you may want to seriously consider keeping it solely in the us.
