Re: Looking for a 2nd Hand Leaf

Ok chaps, this is probably it!

I went out to see the Premium package car today. Here's some screenshots from LeafSpy and a dashboard shot:

If anyone has any comments on the data shown, I'd be most appreciative.

I managed to pair my phone with the BT. Is it possible to play music via BT, or is it just for making/receiving phone calls?

Everything else seemed to check out.

Forgot to mention, they're also throwing in one of these:

Anyone know if they're any good, or if there's a better one out there for cheaper? I can deduct the CAN$700 from the bill if I don't want it.

looks good. 28k+ kilometers, ZERO quick charges, and an 87% SOH. the cell balance is a little off with one of the cells, but you won't miss it for your use case.

you'll probably lose your first capacity bar by the fall of next year.

if they're really going to discount $700 for the charger, then get the discount. you can get a slower 3.3kw evse for less than half that price.

my 2-bits.

What year is it, again? 87% SOH is ok, but I'd expect to find a '14 or newer Leaf with more capacity left, in Canada. Maybe most of your used cars are from the US West?

Every car I've looked at (maybe 8 on autotrader and 3 in real life) has been an import.

Yeah, that figures. I see it's a '13, so verify that the build date is AFTER March of 2013, just in case there was a BMS reset weeks ago. The date is in the vehicle history report, and on the driver's side door sill sticker.

The salesman told me the battery warranty was good until Dec 21st 2021. Would that indicate a build date of Dec 2013?

No, because the warranty starts with the "in service" date (the start of ownership or a lease), not the date of manufacture. If they offer a carfax report, that will have it. You can also put the VIN into free services like this one:

@jadrake I'm guessing this is the LEAF you looked at:

https://www.morreynissanburnaby.com/en/ ... -id5706435

If so, then this is the CarFax:

https://reports.carproof.com/main?id=fV ... LB2wMI786Q

And here is the original sales sticker too:

https://1drv.ms/b/s!AlrxIGuTWy0vuVmbXM3rOHIVsv_z

At this point, any 2013 you look at will likely be close to losing the first capacity bar, so the battery pack on that LEAF is about average. Expect to get about 125 km range in summer on average and worse in heavy rains. Range gets even worse when we get sub-zero temps but fortunately we're lucky in Vancouver that we don't get many of those ;)
