Re: Limiting charging to 80% and fixing the other few things on my wish list

Very nice work! Might look a lot closer at this once I have access to my '15 SV (hoping for delivery this week).

With your system would it be possible to add smarts for when to kick-off the charge?

I'd like a system that allows me to keep the car plugged in at home but only kick off charging once I hit 30% SoC and then only charge to 70%. That way I could always leave the car plugged in and know that I have enough range for the next day.

Can you share the code? I want to implement easy climate control via bluetooth OBDII dongle using android app.

I have posted the Particle code here. Everything is in that one file.

The code works, but it has not been reliable. It may be that I need to handle the Wi-Fi with more error-checking and retries, or I need to do more error-checking on the Leaf data received after the vehicle starts.

Some of the code is specific to the Wi-Fi remote LCD display, and some is specific to the OpenEVSE, to which I send a Wi-Fi command to stop charging, so these may not be helpful to others. There is also much debugging code in there, some turned off by commenting-out calls from the main loop (the last routine in the file), or by #if statements, also as shown in that main loop.

I have not been able to get back into this project for many months, so I won't remember anything about it and cannot answer questions.

Thank you for the details on your project.

Can you tell me what happens when you send 0x68c message over CAR Can?
Any chance that you have a log of messages that are send over the CAN bus when you wake it up?
I am trying to get details about charging (battery temperature, cell voltage, etc.) while the car is charging, however the bus wakes up only for about 2 seconds and all my messages sent (0x79B) are left without any response. Hence no additional data.
