The nav system bothers me. Its too annoyong to be useful and that ok button drives me insane and I have only had it for a week. I have been thinking of usurping it elegantly. Mount a tablet in front of it. Problem is I need a data connection so I can use google maps. I finally solves this last night. Freedompop does tabs now and they support byod. $75 later on amazon and I have a sprint tab 3 on the way. I figure some c channel mounted on the sides of the stereo and slide it right over the existing screen.
Bluetooth audio connection to the car stereo and done. What is nice is the car sees the bt phone and bt music connections as distinct. I had to pair my phone twice. So I can still phone bt and audio bt the tab. Nice.
Too bad I cant usurp the voice rec button on the wheel for the tab
I will post pics and stuff once I get started next week. I got the black tab. If I do it right it might even look factory at a glance.
