Cracked cover over rear spoiler PV cells: $900+

Recently while driving my '14 SL I heard a sharp bang like a rock would make hitting the car. Found the impact point - it was the cover over the solar cells on the rear spoiler. Asked the dealer for a price on the cover. They said the cover isn't available separately and the entire assembly is something over $900! Think I'll be cementing the cracks instead...

Silicon. I'd guess an acorn or some other tree nut falling. It's like a hail storm here right now.

With some googling I found it for $597, looks like it does just come as an assembly, and probably needs to be painted to match.

I would call a junkyard and see if you could find a color match for the piece. There's bound to be something out there by now.

I found a 2012 spoiler with solar panel at a junkyard in NJ from this link. Call for price, but condition indicated no defects, but I did not see a color specified (perhaps it was just the solar panel).
