Customer unfriendly would be an understatement.

Wait times excruciating trying to reach NMAC

Customer rep blunt beyond words.

No lease extension. No. Nope. Didn't even offer a discounted purchase price until I asked for it.

I couldn't continue with this guy so I asked to speak to someone else. Big mistake. Wait times again. Hung up.

My lease expires on 4/6/2016. I had hoped to extend it but that offer is dead. I am guessing the amount they are willing to reduce the purchase price is probably 5k, clearly not enough.

I would have thought with gas prices plummeting, that NMAC would show some eagerness to extend the lease.

Has anyone had any success in getting past the first level rep and getting a lease extension?

Any predictions on whether there will be another lease extension offer?

Funny, I saw a post on here yesterday about someone getting a second lease extension and told my brother who has been contemplating what to do when his 2013 lease expires in April. He originally had a 2 year lease and received a 12 month extension last year. He called yesterday and the first person told him that he could not extend the lease but there maybe a deal to purchase the vehicle. So they transferred him to a "specialist" and he told her that it sucked that he could not extend his lease again and she told him that he actually could because he has a 2013 (not sure if other years are excluded or not). She also did offer to take $5k off the purchase price ($10,500) if he wanted to buy it out but he just wants to get to the 2017 big battery version. So he was able to lock in another one year deal.

Key here is to just ask for the purchase specialist.

(re-posting here in case its helpful to anyone)

Hi- looks like a lucky day for me. I called up 1-800-854-3310 number and was on with a lease specialist in 3 min.
I asked him options for my end of lease for 2013 Leaf (expiring first week of March). He said there are three options 1)Purchase and right now special is going with $6000 discount which will be till end of month and so I can think about it 2)extend the lease upto by a year, it will be month-month contract. I am in WA so price will remain same as current lease. 3)Return.
He was super nice. Said I have time and can think. I told him i want to renew the lease. He confirmed sending me some documents which I have to sign and then they will just process the extension.
I was worried about extension reading all the comments. Looks like all the comments helped and made Nissan change their support. Thanks all for providing information here on forums.
