Easy to find these things out with a google search. Remember, if the dealer is talking, assume they are lying, and check manufacturer info yourself.

That's not under warranty, even though he wishes it were. The capacity warranty only goes to 60k miles for a Leaf with the 24Kwh batt.DanCar said:

heater now ( FALSE.. same old resistor heater).
Another gimmick is a Certified Leaf... there is no certified leaf warranty other than towing !

Why are people telling the poster to find another dealer?
If he has a 2012 Leaf and the dealer is willing to honor a 10 year 100K mile warrantee, then better for him.. If the dealer is ignorant, then their ignorance will get you free stuff... SHHHH....

The Capacity Warranty for the 30KwH battery is longer than the 24KwH battery.
8 yrs/ 100 K miles for 30KwH
5 yrs/ 60 K miles for 24KwH.
-- on a side note.. the fellow with the 2011 that has 100K miles on it.. and still has 45 miles range
claiming a defect.. I'm LMAO because all the other early adopters who had this experience at 35,000 miles
all want to know the secret of his success ! ( me too ! ).

excluding batteries ! check on a state website to confirm. this was the case a few years ago.

I tried to find the California provision that required a 10/100 EV drivetrain warranty.. but had no luck.
this was a selling point when I first started looking at the leaf ..back when folks were waiting months for deliver of the first 2011's.
I also remember reading it with regard to Camry Hybrids.. so we are talking 4-5 years back at least.
This was a consumer protection motivated action by State of Cal.. when Hybrids and EVs were unknown quantities..
and their introduction was pretty much mandated by Calif combined gas milage requirements.
Just as those combined requirements have foisted a raft of compliance EVs sold here.. that are unknown else where
on the planet.. and will be harder to get parts for than your average Terraplane or Huppmobile, in a few years.

My 06 Prius most definitely has the above 2 warranties, but the powertrain warranty remains the standard Toyota one, 5 years/60K miles.
