I think this has been covered here before, but I live fairly close to a 126 kilowatt solar array with 12 EVSEs so I drove over for a first-hand look:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It's a cold (~37degF), cloudy day here in Richland, WA (not one of our 300+ days of sunshine). I connected the LEAF so it would know the location in the navigation system - a nice touch to automatically include it. It's about 2 miles from where the boss works (she'll be the primary driver), but her commute is only 20 miles roundtrip so I don't know how much this will be used. It's definitely built for the future (with 12 EVSEs), but I suspect it is not getting much use at the moment.

Here's a little more info:

and another photo of the EVSEs:

I don't care how long I needed to stay there for a charge, it'd be a PLEASURE to charge from a location with so many solar panels.

AWE-SOME!!!

(drool drool....those should be commonplace here in SoCal)

That they are not commonplace in So Cal highlights the inefficiency of ad hoc state and local programs vs a federally planned shift to better energy sources. Those same panels would do several times more for the planet if they were installed in a location where was a lot of sunlight and no chance of building out cheap hydro power.

It's a bit of a walk/run from Leslie Groves - I'd guess about 2-3 miles. There is a nice path that runs along the river and ends just about where the array/chargers are.

I think the official address is 626 Horn Rapids Road (iirc).
