window film okay for lease?

Hi all my wife is expecting our second child. She's driving a leased 2014 leaf, and the lease is due in May 2017. Question: If we tint our leased leaf, do we need to take them off when we return it? Thanks in advance for responding.

I was told by multiple people at the dealer, as long as it's legal, it's no issue at all.

Window Tint: (becomes chargeable excess wear) "When tint is peeling, fading, bubbling, mismatched or poses safety issue."

My i-MiEV was leased and window tint was a no-no. I purchased my LEAF so I'm not sure, but it could be the same thing. When Nissan gets the car back, your tint may or may not be legal in the state where the vehicle is being resold.
