What are the power buttons for on the homelink mirror?

Had some vexing HomeLink sync issues as well, found this video helpful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpclWt2bNoE. A fork in the road seems to be if you have rolling codes or not. Looks like most modern openers have the rolling codes. Good luck.

For some reason I can't view the video on my iPad so I don't know if it addresses what I'm about to say:

Rolling codes should be easy; once you clone the signal, make sure to press the "recognize" button on the opener to tell it that the signal it is receiving is legitimate. You may need a 2nd person to press the button on the HomeLink while you press the button on the opener.

The tough ones are those transmitters that only put out a short burst of signal, even if you hold the button down. I believe ones sold in Canada are required to work this way.
