2020/21 is going to be a very different BEV landscape than it is today with lots of the next generation showing it's hand. The M3 is already three (some say 4) years old and is getting stale fast. Tesla will need something to freshen up the vehicle by then to keep the model relevant.
Then again if Tesla feels they have a car that still has legs, then they could be a success for buyers looking for Vintage or Retro BEVs.
