My 2018 Leaf has an unusual problem, i have a couple of up hills on the way to work. They are about 2-3 miles of 3-7% grade. I started with about 80% charge, which dropped suddenly to 2% with CHARGE NOW! warning screen. When the road leveled out, the battery charge just as quickly returned with a loss of only the expected approximately 3% (so about 77%) at the top of the hill. No loss of power was experienced & normal discharge of battery occurred through the rest of the drive. Help!

You almost certainly have one or more bad cells in the battery. LeafSpy Pro, with an appropriate OBDII port reader like the one in my signature, will be able to show that. It is covered under warranty, but may require some effort on your part to prove, unless the car is displaying error codes - which LeafSpy Pro can also read.
