Has anyone used an electrified truck stop to charge? I see that Shorepower is electrifying truck stops and charging $1.00 per hour for use. I wonder what kind of adapted I'll need to use the 240 volt outlets?

I haven't yet, but it's an intriguing business opportunity for them.

I can't seem to find it, but I had seen a video on YouTube showing the Tesla Model S, and a large complement of adapter plugs for the portable EVSE. I wish someone would make something like this with a J1772 plug on in. EVSEupgrade is a start, but I would love to see just a bunch of easily interchangeable plugs that would allow the EVSE to plug into any NEMA outlet.

Thanks for sharing! Though not nearly as slick as Tesla's adaptors (it will take up a lot more space to carry these), they are a good solution.

I still wish we had a reputable brand name EVSE that came with small, simple adaptors in a portable EVSE. I'm suspect it won't be long though.

I noticed some truck stops have been added to Recargo on the J1772 "dead zone" in the "Electric Highway", 1-5 in north California, such as the one at Dunnigan below, but no one has reported a "check-in" yet.

Notes:

I-5 exit 554. Most truck stops will not reserve parking ahead of time so it's better to secure the parking first with the Host Site, then call Shorepower (888) 841-3137 to enable service. Start-up cost: $1; Cost per hour: $1.

Give Shorepower a call or shoot them an email (http://www.shorepower.com/contact.html). They are a very EV friendly company and should be glad to help you out!
