I saw that the other day. My FIRST thought was "Nice...show someone idly standing around (looking COMPLETELY bored) while their Leaf charges!" While it was nice to see the Leaf in the spot, making it look like you'll have zero productivity while charging is another.
I dunno, maybe I'm too cynical.

cool to see the Leaf referenced side by side with common household products that we recharge. It's an interesting analogy to sleeping and recharging. The more people see charging a car as a common part of mainstream life, the better!

Nope, that was my take, too. All the other items were shown charging all by themselves. The only thing I can think is that the car was big enough for them to put an attractive woman in the shot, so they did. I don't really think they did it to purposely diss the LEAF.

A more EV-positive staging would have been to show the car charging in the driveway, then pan/zoom/dolly/what-have-you to a shot through the bedroom window where the woman is sleeping soundly on this wonderful mattress. Associating EVs with the inappropriate behavior of peering into a woman's bedroom window, or why it should be a woman seen sleeping on the mattress is a separate discussion.
