Removing the Carwings OK. Somebody? Anybody? Nissan?

Me as well, or I press the xm radio button next to the Nav and play with the stations, this works as well and makes me feel like I am accomplishing something. The ok button really used to piss me off as well. I'm mostly over being upset about it a year later, however, I would still love to see it gone. Still super happy with the Leaf overall ;)

The one interesting thing to consider is that Nissan is selling us the cars while still testing them and collecting data. Other car companies like BMW and Diamler just lease a few EV's to test and collect data. Overall I can live with it as an additional cost of early adoption of new technology. This screen won't fly when there are more choices on the market. I would definatley think twice about buying another EV that had this useless and irritating prompt on startup.

What buttons on the steering wheel work to "reject" the Carwings screen?
Thanks

I just press the top button on the left side of the stearing wheel. The one that brings up the driving range map. That clears up the yes/no prompt.

I think the EASIEST thing to do is just to ignore it. If you don't hit anything it will eventually go away. If it bothers you because you'd like to look at something else instead, then you're going to have to hit a button to get to that screen anyway, so just go ahead and hit it!

I wonder if a person could take delivery without signing up for carwings?
Remember back when the CW signup was exciting because it meant the vehicle was almost here :|

And Gary I do wish the doors would unlock as I put it in park and not have to wait for turning it off.
Or at least light the button to make it easier to find at night.

I could've. My LEAF specialist (admittedly I was the first one he sold a LEAF to) didn't know anything about CARWINGS. I put in own info into the car as I was leaving the lot. Apparently someone on Facebook left the lot without setting up CARWINGS. It's not like the car doesn't work if it doesn't have CARWINGS login info.

Even if you remove your CW login, and rip the Telematics module completely out of the car, it STILL asks you to hit that button.

Using Consult III+, The Dealer can program the auto-lock to operate like that. Auto-Unlock Mode 1 is unlock at power off, Mode 2 is iunlock in Park. You can also set whether it does all doors or just the driver's. The Auto-Lock can also be programmed to Lock at ~15mph (mode 1) or lock as soon as car is put into gear. (mode 2)

I have mine set to mode 2 on both. FYI: LEAFSCAN will be able to set these options for you.

I did prototype an auto agree "OK" circuit. It does work, but unfortunately there is no easy way to sell a kit. The installation requires soldering wires inside the head unit, which is extremely difficult to do. Just getting it apart is a horrible exercise!

I can, however, have LEAFSCAN automatically "disagree" for you. There is no way I have yet found to "agree" over the CAN bus however.

Well, even that will make a lot of people happy. Me, I press Ok every time since I like to go into Carwings occasionally to review history. It doesn't really bother me too much -- yet. :)

That's how I have my locks set. Park to unlock, drive to lock.

Dealer changed it or did I just fail to read the manual?

The most annoying part to me is that the Bluetooth pairing message always comes up about the time I'm ready to press OK, but I have to wait for it to go away before it will pay attention to me. Is there any way to disable the pairing message?

Does anyone know how much data the car buffers before sending it to Carwings? I seldom use Carwings so most of the time I'd be fine just ignoring the OK nag and just switching to the energy, map, or music screens. Eventually I would like my driving data to go to Carwings, for the benefit of myself, EV Project, and Nissan. But I don't need to hit OK on every trip for that. Could I hit OK just once a week to send collected data? Or once a day? If I knew how many trips the car saved, then I could save myself a lot of silly button presses without losing any data.

It's in the manual. I have mine set to not lock at all, therefore they don't have to unlock when I stop.

I don't think so, Tony. Not to lock at all is in the manual, but unlock at Park?

I already said I was in, Phil, and I was thinking I could stay in up to $300, maybe even $400. But you just raised the ante, and I'm still in. Am I ever!

If you press the OK button twice, it is accepted even when the Bluetooth connected message is displayed.

Only the "don't lock" is in the manual; then there's no need for unlock in Park.
So smkettner's question stands. My wife insists on the car locking automatically, but she gets rather irritated that she can't just open the door, without poking at buttons to find the right one, when I pull up to a stop at home and put it in Park while I write down my numbers.

The lock mode stuff is mentioned in the service manual, but only configurable by the Dealer normally.

When you go in to the Dealer for your next operation involving Consult III+, such as your battery health report, ask them to change it to another mode for you.
