I would guess a change in weather.
Did this drop in range come with the recent rains? It seams that rain and wet driving makes a big difference. Either from actual differences on the road, or more heater defroster/defogger use.
The heater, when not in ECO mode, on the 2011/2012 sucks a LOT of power.
