Thanks for the updates! I'm very sorry to hear of any damage to the cars, but it sounds as if everyone is O.K. That's good news!opossum said:We definitely ran long. It was a lot of work, especially when cars started *really* overshooting the finish line and we had to chase them up to 11 miles further down various freeways and replan routes for the later cars. Tony has all the data, but will be on the road back to SD after we finish breakfast/lunch.

Thanks again to all for doing this test. We're looking forward to learning the surprising range results (which sound like they are higher than expected)!
Falls into the general category of no good deed goes unpunished. Hope that more details will emerge and be useful. Thanks for sharing...opossum said:Tow dolly damage to cars

so more range than route?? sounds like a good thing

Hindsight being 20/20, I should have spoken up and pressed for my original suggestion that you turn around at the next exit after you pass 50% instead of picking the turn around exit based on the starting Gid count. Hopefully not all the cars went too far past and not all had trouble on the dollies. Looking forward to your results post. I'm sure it will be enlightening for all of us.
I think it is a splendid idea. I was thinking the same thing (that Tony should be reimbursed for his expenses), but wasn't sure how to go about it. If anyone has any suggestions for implementing the plan, let's hear them.downeykp said:Why don't those of us who are following what Tony et all were doing for all of us, chip in some money to help offset some of the costs. I would gladly donate $20. Any thoughts?

If Tony has a PayPal account, you can send money directly to his account. You just need to know the email address he uses for his PayPal account. Of course you have to have a PayPal account too (not absolutely sure about needing an Acct to send the money) but if both have accounts, I know it works because I've done it before.leafkabob said:I think it is a splendid idea.
