But likely better at lower speeds...

Except they didn't...smkettner said:SOUL-EV is a cool car. Now if Kia had just put in a 150 EPA mile battery it would be a slam dunk.
Range is 80 to 100 miles. Just makes the compliance requirement.TomT said:I expect an EPA range about the same as the Leaf's due to its poorer aerodynamics...
100 kW CHAdeMO sounds useful, though it appears to taper heavily so would only be useful for picking up a smaller amount of charge when nearly empty (and the fact that there aren't any 100 kW CHAdeMO stations out there that I'm aware of!).smkettner said:None of the drive specs set it apart as a more useful EV compared to LEAF.

“The Soul EV will initially be sold in California and Oregon in the West and several Eastern states including New York, New Jersey and Maryland, the regions with the largest EV markets and infrastructure. KMA will look to offer the vehicle in other markets in the near future as infrastructure and demand grow. Pricing for the Soul EV will be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch.”

Motor and inverter waste heat at normal operation are not significant.

+1 watching my range tick down by the season, and hoping a viable alternative emerges in the time my current car remains useful.Valdemar said:Well, my current range is 65 miles, 80-90 will definitely be an improvement, the question is how long it'll last.
