OBD II for 2011 Nissan Leaf

Would anyone have a recommendation for an ODB II adapter for a 2011 Leaf which had a Battery replacement in 2016. I had purchased a KONNWEI KW902 Mini ELM327 adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LVWRGGL) from Amazon a couple of years ago but when I connected it to my car it did not work and caused my dashboard to go nuts with a message to take the car to the dealer! I returned it but want to try again so I can use it with LeafSpy. I am using Android. Any recommendations?
