Nissan Customer Service live chat, 1-877 NO GAS EV holiday?

Today, Friday 4/22/2011, Earthday, Nissan Customer Service live chat and 1-877 NO GAS EV Electric Vehicle Customer Support is on holiday???

Nissan CS chat is offline, and the phone (option 3 order a leaf, and presumably pre-delivery support) has this message (as best as I transcribed it):

Our offices are closed so our specialists can enjoy the holiday.
Please call back during normal business hours.

Earthday is a big deal to me, but most green companies are working today to make the earth greener! I most certainly do no understand this Nissan holiday today. I hope this means all the specialists are out of the office introducing LEAFs and Electirc Vehicles to the public, but I really would have expected them to leave one or two people behind to partially answer customer calls.

It's Good Friday. Many companies have it as a holiday for the Easter weekend. They mentioned to me the other day when I was checking on the status of my car earlier this week that CS would be off today.

Ahh I see, that's still a tough call. For some Good Friday is a higher calling and others Earthday. For many of us, Delivery Day is a high calling!!

I'm quite impatient for my car as well. But I was told that it's just CS that's closed today but that the port is still open as well as the dealerships. So hopefully my car is getting on a truck today *crosses fingers*.

It's ok because customer service is not going to deliver your car. They rarely deliver any useful information. The dealerships are open and still delivering cars they receive from Long Beach.

Perhaps they should staff the call center with folks of Jewish, Hindu, or Muslim faiths to cover for the Christian holidays.

Don't see whats the big deal for closing CS today. Most businesses are open today !

It is Good Friday.....reason for holiday....not because of Earth Day!

My company's Canadian branch is closed today. Legal holiday. (personally I think it has more to due with the Stanley Cup playoffs )
