Why is it bad if you charge it at 100%, and then leave it idle for a day or 2. What happens to the battery.

If it isn't hot outside, one time doing this probably had no obvious effect. Don't worry about it, but try to not to do it again. When I charge to 100% and my trip is aborted, I use CarWings to remotely run the climate control for 15 minutes, once or twice, to bring it down into the low or mid 90's.

my question wasnt answered. why cant you leave it idle after 100% charge.is this in the owners manual.

You can leave it at 100%. But the battery electrolyte begins to break down, so if you left it that way for weeks at a time, you might see a difference. One day by itself doesn't make a difference. But it can add up.

Unfortunately, the MNL wiki is offline: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16737" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, here's some archived content https://web.archive.org/web/20130619201439/http://www.mynissanleaf.com/wiki/index.php?title=Battery_Capacity_Loss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_store_batteries" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - for a different variant of li-ion than used in the Leaf though
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=366685#p366685" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And, there's PLENTY more here and elsewhere on the net...

However, it's been stated that "100%" charge on the Leaf isn't really 100%. There's some unusable capacity at the top and bottom.
