Releasing possession of the car before receiving full payment is not a good idea. I would find someone you trust to hold it for you until you receive the full payment. Talk to your bank. They might duo it for a small fee and help process the final payment as well

23k is a fair price for a used Leaf, no incentives. For that amount I would probably still get a new Leaf and it is a fair deal for both of you.

as to the question of sale price? well no, of course not.

just thinking that having 2011's still for sale is not a good sign i would think especially in CA where the CWP and the additional $4K is probably less desirable.

As for the OP's transaction, wow, that is pretty crazy. I've never had a car sale be that complicated or with that many points of risk before. Hope it all works out.
