... I did in fact purchase the 2 day return policy (for $150), as it seemed a safe bet because we never saw the car fully charged. Sadly, we made the decision to bring the car back today. Its a little heart breaking for me, as its been a dream to be gas/oil free for a long time. The range anxiety is just too much for my wife and I as our commutes can vary significantly on a daily basis. ...
Sorry about the $150 LEAF learning curve.

It is sad that so many people such as yourself have inadequate understanding of the LEAF range.
Nissan did a lot of false inaccurate marketing.
It is not a 100 mile vehicle even when brand new under most peoples driving conditions.

I got lucky and have a new battery.
Yes the DTE will read 108 miles when fully charged.

But my real world driving, I could have made 75 miles yesterday.
Had I been doing steady 35 mph all day yes it would have done 100 miles.
But that isn't normal typical driving for most people.

My five year old four capacity bar loss LEAF was only 40 to 60 miles.
And in cold weather using heat 30 to 35.
I think you did the right thing to return it.

NOTE: Eco doesn't make much difference. Just different pedal mapping and quicker regen.
Most people can do as well in Drive.
