Door Jam Switch

Wife came home after dark , last night , after picking up daughter from work .

The front dome lite , left lamp would not go off . I also noticed the ref flashing symbol on the dash for door ajar ( I think ) .

Opened and shut doors , no joy . Gave up for the night .

Did some internet research & found door jam switch .

Ordered it at the local AutoZone store . Suppose to arrive after 03:00 PM tomorrow / Friday .

Looks to be held in place with 1 screw .

Since it is the left lamp , does than mean the defective switch is LF or LR ?

Unfortunately, your dome and map light design (you have '12, I think) is different than '13+ (mine). Did you check the switches overhead?

I'm looking at the '12 Leaf manual. From what I can gather on page 2-56, they're turn on/off by pushing on the lenses. There's also a switch in the middle and another one on the ceiling light further back.

Ummm... door ajar would be indicated by a picture of the car w/the door open, when the car's in READY mode. See page 2-14.

From page 2-20 of the '12 manual
"Security indicator light
This light blinks when the power switch is in the
ACC, OFF or LOCK position. This function
indicates the security system equipped on the
vehicle is operational.
If the security system is malfunctioning, this light
will remain on while the power switch is in the
ON position. For additional information, see
“Security systems” later in this section.
Turn signal/hazard indicator"

That indicator is the red car with a key inside it.

Will do some more checking after lunch .

Found the central switch on the dome lite . Did not know you could press on the lens to turn them on ?

Better get it sooner than later as they removed the '11 Leaf manuals awhile ago, for some reeason.

Thank you , I downloaded all the pdf's for 2012 .

Pushed on the lens of the left lite & it went off .

Now I have a door jam switch from AutoZone . Oh well , it was less than $ 20 .
