I seem to recall some time ago, there was some discussion regarding EVSE at the San Jose airport. What is the current status of the feasibility of charging a Leaf at the airport (in my particular case, just for short-term hourly parking while I pick someone up)? I'm pretty sure there's no QC anywhere nearby, but is there a L2 charger on site (or at least access to L1)?

The only thing I could find was a reference to "1 TAL 2000 SP Inductive 1 EVII ICS-200 Avcon Conductive" at Terminal A (from the http://www.chargingstations.com/places/mineta-san-jose-international-airport-san-jose-ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) but this sounds woefully out of date to me and not something that the Leaf could utilize in any case (without extra accoutrements).

Several J1772's per the comments on the older EVChargerMaps site (in sunset mode): http://www.evchargermaps.com/?SiteID=95110_2&Want=SPI%20LPI%20AVC%20OC&Zoom=17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or try PlugShare.com and type the 95110 zip code - then read the reviews.

Or try Recargo.com and try that zip code ... I'll spoil it for you: http://www.recargo.com/sites/742" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:)

Check out the SJC site. They hav several J1772 connectors to charging docks:

http://www.flysanjose.com/fl/travelers.php?page=parking/charging&subtitle=Parking+|+Electrical+Vehicle+Charging+Station" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have never used them so don't have further details.

I have only used the ones at terminal A. The two EV parking spaces there are so convenient it is embarrassing. They are on the ground floor of the parking garage, right by where you enter, and close enough to the north end of the baggage carousels that even I could lob a football from my car to the baggage area doorway.

There are several L2 chargers in the hourly lot immediately adjacent to the newer terminal. They are arranged side-by-side along the edge of the parking lot which parallels the airport's main loop road.
