While I'm not saying we'd necessarily buy this add-on, it sure sounds cool! Extra range and 6.6 kW charging in one package will be great. However, losing trunk space (as in the Ford Focus Electric) could be a drawback. How much space do you anticipate would be lost with the 6 kWh install?

No decision yet on where it would go. Likely candidates are the "spare tire area" under the rear of the car (hence no loss of interior), or partially in the "hump" with the existing charger, removing the existing 12v lead acid would make room also under the hood, and finally the easy choice; in the trunk well. The last one is the only one the would be like a Ford Focus EV.

Again, these are all decisions that will likely be developed after we have determined how many will be built. Sorry, but it will absolutely not be "custom" to each person's particular needs. One size fits all (except for number of cells).

Limited production, one run planned, no kits, no call centers, no options except number of cells, installed FOB San Diego.

Ya, I forwarded the link to my "guy" who's working on this. This isn't the elegant solution I would want, but the price is right.

You can buy an 8khw system for $6000 from http://www.enginer.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. installation costs $500.
