Off topic, but after you are done the van, what about a station wagon conversion? Or small pickup?

I have a 2012 GMC truck that I bought new, I'm already spending too much time dreaming about converting that.

Another rainy day Leaf strip tease session this afternoon, mostly the left rear door. The most entertainment was figuring out how to remove the exterior door handle, and the overhead grab handles.

Exterior door handle: torx screw in the edge of door under a plastic cap, which releases the stationary part of the exterior handle, then moveable handle slides to rear and you're free.

Interior overhead grab handles: pull handle down, release tab on center top of trim pulling tab towards center of vehicle, the tab and inner trim slides upward and unpins the metal clip. Do that to both ends and the handle is off. Pinch the metal clip to remove from the vehicle sheet metal. To reinstall, put the metal clip and plastic trim piece back on the handle, then push straight up into the sheet metal holes which the metal clip engages.
