The gen I AC is more efficient, but it isn't as if the heat pump A/C is an energy hog. I only lose about 2 miles of range to A/C on a typical 30-40 mile trip. Really hot weather might take an extra mile or so.

After this summer, I will know if there is a significant difference in efficiency. In a little use in moderate temperatures the past couple of days, the A/C consumption shown on the NAV unit screen is no higher than on the 2011. I know this is not the best way to measure it, but I was not recording A/C power consumption on the 2011 (except during pre cooling while plugged in) because I had no plans to replace it. Once the weather gets hot enough to use pre cooling, I may get some useable data from the kWh meter to compare, but there may be too many variables to be able to draw conclusions.
