It was cheaper than anything I could get on a 3 year lease, even with the $2500 rebate (which I did not get on the 2 year).
The only bad thing was they didn't have blue! But I can live with black.

That sounds bit odd. To make 3yr lease worse than yours, 3yr total should be $5570 higher than 2yr term.
Is it the case?

I called around to all the area dealers and the prices I got when asking for a quote were all over the map, even though I specifically asked for VPP pricing. There was about a $4000 spread between dealers over the course of a 3 year lease on an SV.

I ended up at Ann Arbor Nissan. The sales guy said they had 30 in stock, and the back lot looked like it. The dealers closer to me would not even come close to matching the deal, and insisted the dealer would not follow through on the quote.

Ended up being:
$2000 total due at signing.
$213.50 a month, 36 months, 12k miles a year. Those figures include all taxes and fees.

Got an SV with no options. Very happy so far, though it's quite a learning curve.

Anyone in the Detroit region looking for a deal can PM me if you want his name. Most everything was handled online or over the phone.

I have been in contact with dealers all over the bay area and just want to make sure i am not selling myself short on the pricing. The terms are:

Thank you everyone for the wealth of information. I have been looking at leasing a Nissan Leaf S, and have been offered the following terms and wanted to know if I should press for better. The terms are:

Leaf S with QC and tint, locks, cup and edge guard (which adds $499):

MSRP $31625
I had the VPP $1000 below invoice.
Agreed price: $28315
$733 Service Contract
$310 Maintenance
$122.50 Doc fee
$126 Public Offical fees
$595 Acq fee
Money factor 0.00107
Gross Cap Cost $30948.47
24 mo/18 K miles
$1000 down.
Used the $8150 rebate from Nissan.

$8801.07 for Cap Cost Reduction
for an Adjusted Cap cost of $22147.40
Residual value $15180 (48% on 31625)

So $1000 down 24mo/18K @ $348.93/mo.

This is in the Houston area. Is it a good deal?

Thanks in advance for your help.

service contract and maintenance on a car that doesn't need anything during the lease period. You are a dealer's dream.

I say you might have supplied the dealer a pre-oiled deal.

Well, "worse" is relative. I mean that my total cost over the life of the car would be Higher. Of course I get to have the car for 50% longer. Payment was $6/mo cheaper on 36 months. Cost turns out to be 183/mo. Another way to think of it, is I can have the car for that third year for $500 more. Initially I didn't think of that as necessary given my circumstances, as my primary reason for getting the car was to get in the carpool lane, and that was going to end in 2015. However I just saw this yesterday http://gov.ca.gov/news.php?id=18234" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

So, now it's worth it for me to keep the car for three years, and the dealer says I can change my lease terms on Monday :)

Is the residual value variable based on location? I got 50% on 24 months. That's almost $700 difference based on your cost.
Your money factor is about double the optimal, although I suppose that can vary with credit rating.
Docs fees are negotiable.
I agree - skip the service and maintenance especially on a 24 mo lease.

Not sure about the location. But I think it does depend on the miles per year. This was for 18K/year. I also got a quote from another dealer who gave the money factor as 0.00003

Looks decent. From the first page, base S is 160 a month for $2k down, VPP. But you have the charger package, extra.

If my company is not an eligible VPP partner, the cost will be 160+1000/36=187.78 for S with $2K down, correct?

Guys
I just signed a deal for a Leaf S + Quick charge package for 12k/36m/0 down for $272 a month.
Any thoughts on this deal? Also, this is a VPP deal.

Seems to be a bit higher than mine. I'm in CA, same car, same charge package, same lease terms. $258 a month inc taxes but I did had to pay $1083 even though it's $0 down due to tax, title, license, doc fee, etc.

I think you did just fine!

Remember VPP is invoice - 1k, not MSRP - 1k. So, you have to negotiate with the dealer to get the car for invoice.

Thank you for your reply, evnow! Any suggestion on negotiation strategy if I don't have VPP Claim ID?

Why would you have to do that? I thought that was the whole point of VPP (i.e. no negotiations, rock bottom pricing)?

If you are not on VPP, you have to negotiate.

BTW, many of us have seen even with VPP sometimes the dealers aren't exactly being honest.
