Hi all,
About 2 winters ago the PTC heater on my 2012 Leaf failed - no heat, no current being drawn by heater. I took the PTC apart and saw some plates that were indeed not soldered anymore. I soldered them and put it back together since I didn't see any other issues. The heater would still not work, even after clearing all codes with LeafSpy.
These days I finally thought to tackle the issue - winters with no defrosting are not safe! Perhaps I should have tried a 12V ceramic heater... I reckoned the fuse must have blown with it. I *painstakingly* removed the junction box, based on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u19YogcC2H8, opened it up and what do you know? All the fuses have continuity. Does this basically mean, the heater was not properly fixed (still has issues) and sure enough, the junction box is OK. (If only you'd know how many hours I've spent pulling this unit out.....)
Was reading here https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=34298 about fuse in the traction battery. Does this apply to the newer models and not the 2012?
Many Thanks!
