20/20 on ABC: Over a Barrel: U.S. Oil Addiction

I have a season pass for this show on my TiVo and although many eps don't interest me, this one did since it's about our addiction to oil. They covered topics such as prices, speculation, pipelines, refineries, offshore drilling, a few projections, how we're not paying the true cost of oil (doesn't include our military spending in the Middle East) and spoke to T. Boone Pickens.

They pointed out a # of facts that most of us here already knew like we consume 25% of the world's oil while making up only 4% of the world's population. I didn't realize that we consume 2x the amount of gasoline that China + India consume combined.

Anyhow, it's a bit tougher to find all the parts online and it looks like ABC didn't put up the last part, but someone else uploaded it to YouTube.

Thanks for sharing. So in 2009 regular gas was at $2.49-$2.95... amazing. Today it is $4.29 at my local Chevron :shock:
